A little About Me
Kevin Pedrey, LMT, PFT, Health and Wellness Coach
I am a licensed Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer, and Health and Wellness Coach. The healing arts have been a part of my life since I was a young child. My fascination with the body began when I was introduced to martial arts at 8 years old. I have spent most of my adult life searching, seeking, and practicing many different forms of healing practices.
I started my career as a recruiter and consultant in the healthcare industry, working with executives and managers in Fortune 500 companies. I then started and founded a series of businesses in health and wellness, including fitness, massage, and rehabilitation. I have extensive training in functional movement and I specialize in pain management and wellness coaching. I am certified to teach Tai Chi and have practiced mindfulness and meditation for the last 20 years.
Health, wellness, and healing is a lifestyle and is meant to embody every aspect of living, including living life with deep passion and purpose. I am a recovered alcoholic since 2012, and my vision and mission for health means living and practicing the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional components of my life. It took many painful life experiences to find my way and overcome some of my bigger life challenges. For me, living a life in balance means spending time on my own personal and professional development while trying to balance all the other areas of my life.
A few years ago, I learned a few lessons, the hard way. After having many scares with chest pain symptoms and fears of having a heart attack, I found out that I was stressed and that my symptoms resulted from anxiety. I had panic attacks. This was a hard realization for me! As an entrepreneur, I was taught that you needed to work H.A.R.D if you wanted to succeed. Since my early 20’s, I have been on a quest to learn about health and to make it my priority in life. As the sole provider in our family, the pressure to succeed was always more than just being the best at what I did - it felt like it was about survival.
I found throughout my journey - and through some wins and losses - that no amount of work, success, or money is worth sacrificing my body, life, or quality time with my family. But this realization came after a lot of struggle because I was torn between wanting success, money, and financial security while trying to balance time with my family, friends, and the other personal aspirations I had for my life. However, the truth was that the lack of healthy balance I had between these things came with a huge sacrifice: quality time with the people I love and the things I enjoy doing, and the deterioration of my physical health. As I began sharing my story of discovery and change with other people, I realized I wasn’t alone. I found that most people struggle with finding ways to live a healthy life. For professionals who are working with other professionals and stay-at-home moms, the story is always the same: “I never have enough time!”
At the depth of my despair and feelings of hopelessness, I realized many things were missing from my life: Authenticity, peace, contentment, and yes, Life Balance! This realization helped me turn my life around to live the life that gives me more energy, excitement, and passion for doing the things I love most.
Learning this helped to change the course of my personal life and career. I now have clarity about what living a healthy life means, and it is my passion to help others find this so that they can live an active, pain-free, and healthy lifestyle!
